Our Mission Statement
“Sharing our lives and the Gospel”
Our mission statement is inspired by two testimonies in the bible
The first is the book of Acts.
At the start of every year this church preaches 4 sermons in the book of Acts. What has struck the congregation as we have done this, is the way God, by his Spirit and Gospel, transformed believers so that as they came together, not only did they share their love for Jesus and pray, but also shared all aspects of their lives as well. (Acts 2.42-47)
The second testimony which has inspired our mission statement, is that of the relationship between the apostle Paul had with the church in Thessalonica. The church in Thessalonica is known as a model church because they repented from paganism, and embraced the gospel as the word of God. When Paul writes to them there is great affection in his words. He wrote to them and said, “So, being affectionately desirous of you, we were ready to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own selves, because you had become very dear to us.” (1 Thessalonians 2.8 ESV)
Because we share our lives and the Gospel, there are 4 areas that we are conscious to fulfil
Sharing together…
1. Sharing the gospel with each other (church, growth groups, and other meetings)
2. Sharing our lives together (church, growth groups and hospitality)
Sharing with others…
3. Sharing the gospel with others (home, workplace, friends and relatives)
4. Sharing our lives with others (hospitality and sincere friendships)
The result the intentional implementation of this vision statement is our vision for the church
